Several years ago,
Dawn L. Mullan
began creating and publishing aesthetic and functional web
images. Inspired by such artists as Picasso, Renoir, Escher,
Monet, van Gogh and Chagall,
Dawn composes substantive archival art work combining
her love of art and technology. |
|
As a native of the (North) American
Southwest,
Dawn appreciates the enormous sky --full of changing
landscapes from clear, hot summer days to rich, stormy
monsoonal nights with sunrises of golden lapis and sunsets
of redden hues as stars glisten brightly in the evening sky.
|
|
Viewing pictures from the Hubble telescope or the planets
through
a home scope, the universe is alive with inspiration
and beauty
on an aquamarine canvas. This adoration for
astronomy has invoked a different but interesting direction
for the artist to embrace. Recently,
Dawn
began exhibiting her brand of science fiction themed art
work known as
Spacescapes. These original and expanding pieces of
art have become an ever increasing staple in this artist’s
archival repertoire. |
|
Though art is a focus,
Dawn has many other unique skills and abilities from
facilitating panel discussions to presenting lectures,
web designing to
desktop publishing,
from
acting in film
to stage managing plays,
writing articles to
creating program books. The
breadth of her abilities keeps broadening with every new
endeavor she undertakes. |
|
Even
with her busy schedule,
Dawn finds time to give back to the community. Being a
member of several
non-profit
organizations as well as
supporting local charities with contributions of her art
work for silent auctions,
Dawn still believes that
volunteering her time is an
important civic responsibility. |
