MCS Information & Awareness

What is MCS?

Funny you should ask. We didn't know either when Dawn was diagnosed. We discovered that MCS stands for Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. As far as we can tell, this condition is not uncommon. Millions of people around the world are sensitive to many chemicals that pervade modern society. Unfortunately, some individuals (approximately 3 million Canadians and 4 million Americans) become acutely ill.

Don't think you have this illness? Or know someone who has it? Think again. Allergic to any medications? Sulfa? Penicillin? Can't stand the smell of perfumes and colognes? Laundry detergent makes you itch? Have hives?

Before Dawn's illness became unimaginably serious, she wrote many articles and essays about her experiences as a person with disabilities. We hope to have those writings available soon. We have unpublished poetry, art, and other items ready for her fans.

In the meantime, Dawn asks everyone to stop using pesticides in their homes, schools, and agriculture. So millions more people do not have to suffer a similar fate.

As her family and friends, we hope you will make the conscientious switch to organic foods, natural cosmetics and laundry detergents.

Protect yourself. Protect your family. Make the switch today.

Thank you,

The Mullan Family and Friends
